Life Expectancy of Aftermarket CR-V A/C Clutch
I'm about to replace the A/C compressor clutch on my daughter's 2007 CR-V LX and would like to hear from anyone who opted for an aftermarket clutch/coil versus replacing the compressor. How long did the clutch and coil last and what did you pay for it? It seems Amazon and eBay are the only places selling what appears to be decent items.
Thanks

I'm in the same boat but with my 06 cr-v.
Does anyone have an answer before i change the clutch/coil or shoot the wad on the compressor/system?

If you get the exact coil and clutch replacement (dealer) and end up with the proper clearances for the clutch to plate, then you can getaway with just changing the clutch/coil assembly. I tried doing the coil repair with an aftermarket kit and it didn't go well. The main shaft thread got stripped due to over tightening. It didn't take much to strip the thread on the main shaft so be careful. I picked up a compressor on amazon for about $125 bucks. System worked great for 2 years, now I'm battling some electrical issues. I believe the PCM is not kicking on the AC clutch and fan relays. When I bypass the relays with a jumper wire, the AC fan and clutch work fine and I get cool air. I know this is an old thread, but hope your repair worked out for you.

Just put an eBay clutch coil on my 05. Working great. Piece looks fine. Bearings were shot in the old one. I guess that’s the toll off road roading takes.
They don’t make it easy to get to. Shim it as per manual.
