Assistance Needed: Redline shift to 4th, engine shut off
Hello, Last night I ran my car hard about 74-7500 then shifted into 4th then it shut off. Cranks and tries to turn over but doesn't. Didnt have any sounds of anything breaking during the shift or after, nor when cranking that Im aware of. Oil was abit low, no water mixing, some slight oil on plugs when i pulled it out, some oil leaking on the corner of my head. Any thoughts what could have went wrong?
i have 98 b18c block with 99 pr3 head, .50 bore with pr3 pistons, gsr cam. N boltons with type r ecu, not tuned (i know i shouldnt drive it like that without tuned, whats done is done, my mistake).
Just trying to get info to what can be wrong before I tow it to the shop this weekend.
If I'm on wrong section, I Apologize and thanks for looking and helping.

Well one of the first things you should check before cranking on it more is the timing, just to make sure all the marks still line up and it didn't jump time, break a belt, etc... If that is good, then confirm you are getting fuel and spark and so on depending on your results.

Didnt break belts, at least they were on when I looked, it was pitch black lol. I'll check again when I can. The car is parked far away. Will check timing, fuel and for spark. Anything else i can or should do while there and checking for those and after the check? Thanks for the reply 99!

So my timing lines match up, parrarell from each other, Belt is tight. Yes on the fuel from the pump. No spark on my plugs, but spark on my coil. Tested the battery and came back bad as well, so I ordered an Optima battery since I have a system - I figured it will be best.
Different note, earlier that morning, I changed out the starter and alternator cuz I had clicking problems (guessing starter) and got the alternator tested while the alternator on the car at auto zone ("bad, running on pure battery"), battery tested 85% too. if this helps any..
After the installs, it started right away (tried at least 3 times, minus the belt squealing, which is new)
Thanks for looking and the help.

So I just changed the cap and rotor. Does not start. When cranking, sounds weak. Should i change the whole distributor? The spark is weak, like a flash. Not like strong lightning spark like I got off the coil. Could my plug wires gone bad? Any info will heLP, thanks!
