Icon7 Building b18b1, will going to 81.5mm make up for low comp

Im going to turbo my LS swap. I have 81.5mm 8.61 compression wiseco pistons and a GTX2860R. I was planing on running 8lbs for a daily driver, Garret told me that on stock compression this turbo will do 350 HP wise. If I run an addition 1lb of boost will that make up for the compression drop? With a GTX2860R, what RPM will be out of boost and in full boost?

Let us know how your experiences with the GTX2860R go, especially if you're trying one of the new Gen 2 models.

Also not sure why you're using such low compression, 9.5 -> 10.1 is 100% safe on pump gas with even a halfway decent tune and would provide more low end.

The turbo will make the power it can make regardless of the actual static compression in your case. The question is how it's going to be tuned, and the amount of timing used. In addition, going with a larger bore will require engine sleeving the entire block, in which case you'd have to change pistons anyway. That's a great point in time to increase compression on the pistons as Chance EG suggested.

With a true 2.0 litre, it's a great change for torque with your 89mm crankshaft with this turbocharger for better torque-band.

I was going with a lower compression as a safe guard, I don't want to trust the next man. My local Honda specialty shop has told me they found a tuner they like and my whole goal is to see if I can make the engine outlast the turbo, I am going with looser clearances on my rod bearings. Odds are its prolly going to be tuned on 91 because that is what I can find at every gas station.

8.61 is stupid low. If the tuner sucks dont use them. No reason you cant do 9.5-10:1 with a built sleeved engine

Im not going to sleeve the block, I spoke to Mr.Benson about this he said for anything under 400 don't worry about it.
