Re: Prepping block for new head gasket

I use 800 grit 3M sandpaper and I wet sand it by hand. Probably not supposed to but it's how I've been able to get graphite gasket material off the Honda blocks and heads without taking any...

Re: Motor Oil Leak, can't figure out from where

Clean it all up and then drive a little and inspect.

If it still looks like it's coming from the bell housing and engine block mating area, that would most likely be your rear main (crank) seal...

Re: '93 Honda Del Sol Head Gasket Leaking (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ O I L ♥ (And More!)

In the case of your motor, I'd second the thought of a chase for the bolt holes being the PO seems to have already fuqed up a few things. Doubt the holes are easily cleaned.

I usually don't bother...

Here in BC Canada I got a head resurfaced and pressure tested for 100 bucks. Your mileage may very. Call around and see what your machine shops charge.

Re: d series help! - which engine is this? d15b7

You found the thread (https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/d-series-help-engine-3139078/) and bumped it, did you read it and go to the links in it?

You have an early model...

Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today

I really like the mock up idea. It makes cutting the wire to length and adding ends easier than trying to do it in car. It's a 3D version of the harness board I've seen used in manufacturing.

Re: Gasket matching a z6

If you are doing your own tuning, that will tell you what you need for each change.

If you are porting before learning how to tune, you are doubly blind and will have no clue what the car needs...

Re: Honda civic limp mode/dies when I stop.

You might need to get more details on what PO did for timing 5K ago.

The K series is known to have issues with the timing chain tensioner over time. It should be replaced every 100,000 Kilometers...

Re: Can anyone help me identify this?

Good deal. It's hard to tell in the picture, is it rubber, plastic or metal. Also the size isn't easily identifiable in the picture as there is nothing there for reference. Little tips for the...

Re: Reverse grind after tranny fluid change.

Not just regular GM Synchromesh but GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. They have both and the FM version is the one that most people find better than current version Honda MTF. I suspect it's a lot...

Re: Can anyone help me identify this?

They look like the rubbers from the bottom of the radiator. Should only be two but sometimes people don't pull one and another gets added making two under 1 post.

Did you remove your radiator to...

Re: Broken radiator bracket bolt

I've never had much luck only drilling out bolts, I've almost always ended up taking out threads in the process. And if you tap it larger, it won't use the OEM bolt. If it's a frame rail bolt hole, I...

Are you talking about the Truhart's? I believe so. You should call them to confirm.

Re: Reverse grind after tranny fluid change.

What year Si.

On the 92-00, reverse does not have synchros so there is always grind if the car is moving at all. You might not had moving wheels when throwing to reverse before or you got lucky...

Re: Broken radiator bracket bolt

Drill it out, then carbide cut the hole large enough for a rivnut. Break the back welded bolt away and then install the m6 x 1.0 rivnut.

Re: Gasket matching a z6

There is only bits and pieces of information out there. I was trying to research formulas for engine building purposes and ran into a snag when it came to intake theory.

Here is some of the bits...

Re: 05 Civic SI EP3 engine with rod knock

Yeah, seems wikipedia may be incomplete. Your site also has the K20A type R and it looks like my K20Z3 in design while your K20A looks like the CRV K24 motor so is very likely your replacement motor....

Re: Overheated civic

Usually you check the block and head for flatness with a precision straight edge (100 dollar tool) and feeler gauges. Most times only the head is warped and you can resurface and replace the head...

Re: 05 Civic SI EP3 engine with rod knock

Looking it up, it appears the K20A was JDM only, the 2002-2005 Civic Si appears to have received the K20A3, significantly less power. your ECU will not run the JDM K20A properly. The compression...

I'm curious to know what research you have done regarding runner size, length and intake manifolds etc.

The reason I ask is bigger isn't always better.

From what I understand, changing runner...
