Damn! I think I'd buy a couple of junkyard harnesses for that price and then make my own connectors for the junk yard connectors

Hard to pinpoint, drive it for a while and see if it gets worse as the engine warms up. It sounds like gasket tick more than knock.

Sounds like an exhaust leak

D-series arent exactly known to be silent motors, id say its within acceptable tolerances. Should just sounds like a sewing machine.

It's for an ac pressure switch that you should have on the silver can. The off white yellow dot on the silver can is suppose to have an ac pressure switch screwed into it

Also make sure the egr valve passages are clean, the 12valve and lean burn rely heavily on the Egr for extra air.

I'm not sure about the z1, but the y5 had different ecus for California and...

Mine in the d16y5 only sounded different because of the idle air control valve. I never noticed any rough cross over because the y5 changed to 16valve at 3500 rpms and at a certain throttle...

On my si anytime I disconnect the battery and hook it back up it throws a code for front oxygen sensor. Once I delete the code with an obd2 scanner it never comes back.

So ask autozone to delete...

Ok so on the 96-98 cars the manual lever to close off the heater core inside the car under the dash by the center console always has some slack in it.

Make sure you manually disconnect the slide...

Nope

They have a bit of extra wire in them. Push the harness into the door panel to male it easier to crimp or soldier the wires
