Re: Radiator Over Flowing 99 Civic EX

Yep, buy a block testing kit and use it. You can get it at your local parts store.

Re: Jdm obd2 d15b stage3 vtec figured out

Right, but like you said, those were made for trucks. They could be made stupidly tall without having packaging issues. Like I said, bore:stroke. Go making an engine with a stupidly big bore and a...

Re: Daily D16Z6 Turbo- Have I done my research correctly?

That turbo is still entirely too big, but whatever, if you're getting it free, then it is what it is. A free turbo would personally raise my eyebrows, though. There's nothing risky about running a...

Re: Honda Del Sol Weird Problem.

Considering 11 is an ECU failure code, and 13 is a Baro code (which doesn't actually exist, meaning...ECU failure code) maybe you shouldn't doubt they would stop the car from running. Replace the...

Re: Daily D16Z6 Turbo- Have I done my research correctly?

I get that you're set in your ways on this, but think of it this way. These cars have been around, and we've been fucking around with them, for 25+ years now. What works, what doesn't work, what's...

Re: Jdm obd2 d15b stage3 vtec figured out

It isn't because of balance, it's because of bore:stroke ratios. Making a 3 liter I4 would result in an engine too tall to be feasible in most packages. Add two more cylinders, and suddenly you...

Re: Things to consider before lowering your EK

Are you seriously trying to compare a Civic to something that weighs just shy of three tons? And trying to compare a car to an SUV?

Re: Daily D16Z6 Turbo- Have I done my research correctly?

First off, S100 is outdated. Second off, you shouldn't be choosing your tuning option, your tuner should. This isn't really a matter for debate. You need to let your tuner use what they feel is most...

Re: Daily D16Z6 Turbo- Have I done my research correctly?

First off, forget about PSI. It is a means to an end, and not a number you should ever concern yourself with. Second off, a T3 is entirely too big for your goals. Get a smaller frame, like a T28...

Re: better performance

PCDs, J pipe, better intake, and IM spacer could get you a little bit of power. The whole "without spending a fortune" thing might be the catch, though - not everyone has the same idea of a fortune....

Re: Looking into an el with a b20 VTEC need help

CTR. Civic Type R. B16B, or B16A, depending on year. Also not particularly relevant if the car hasn't been professionally tuned.

Re: Misfire, rough idle.. electrical problem??

Your engine needs to be warm with the throttle fully opened to do a proper compression test. New spec is something like 170, IIRC, but as long as you're above 100, you're fine.

Re: 96 Honda Civic DX M 5 Overheating after replacing nearly everything

Or the thermostat could be failing. Remove the thermostat and test it. If you don't have a kitchen thermometer you can use to test it with, just head to your local dealership and buy a replacement....

Re: Things to consider before lowering your EK

These are the reasons your "build advisor" is a moron, because they didn't tell you that all of this is wrong. Come on man, this is basic stuff that absolutely no one should even think about telling...

Re: why does this 99 EJ6 looks like 98 civic? weird

Hmm, that makes sense. The inside edge just looked like the pointy style of the 99-00 to me, rather than the rounded edge of the 96-98.

Re: why does this 99 EJ6 looks like 98 civic? weird

VINs work mathematically. They wouldn't just "fudge" a VIN to cover a fuckup, because 1 - that would be caught way too fast, and 2 - car manufacturing is all automated, so something like that...

Re: why does this 99 EJ6 looks like 98 civic? weird

Yeah, so I've tried looking at that VIN from a few different directions, and can't make heads or tails of it. The check digit is wrong. Even if you transpose it (which would make it a 7) it's...

Re: Inquiry: Looking for Oversize Pulley for 1.6litre

In your title you say 1.6, but in your thread you say 1.4. Both exist, so some clarity would be beneficial. Also, why do you want an oversized pulley? It sounds like you're trying to do something...
