Re: Behind the Counter: AutoParts Stories

This is the reason I go to parts stores with older people working the counter. They seem to know their shit better, most times. But to skip all that nonsense either shop online or know the exact part...

Re: Hurricane season 2018

Re: Bad credit? No credit? No problem!

Yikes. Sounds like you took on a lot of risk early. Were those business loans high interest? Did you do any number crunching beforehand to see whether or not your business(s) is viable in the long...

The last time I heard commercials like this was right before the 2008 recession.

Re: Advice on fluids 01 GS

Torco MTF and RTF are great choices if you are going to be doing HPDE events. RTF tends to be a little notchy when the transmission is cold and works ok when it's hot outside and your engine is up to...

Re: ***OFFICIAL Warrior Monk (Mattis) Appreciation Thread***

I wonder if there is anyone who will be able to fill his shoes when he retires.

Re: Hurricane Lane

Better to be safe than sorry. Tsunamis and hurricanes historically have caused serious damage and killed people here before. For reference below is hurricane Iniki's path. This hurricane took a last...

Re: Hurricane Lane

Thanks. It's so deceiving. It's partly sunny and humid af outside. The calm before the storm I guess. My coworker checked in on his family in Hilo and it's raining there right now.

Re: Hurricane Lane

Yikes. I'm really hoping it was at least cleaned out properly, however my coworker who used to work for the state said they usually don't do a good job. Keep our fingers crossed.

Good idea on...

Re: Hurricane Lane

There will likely be power outages unfortunately. I'm worried about how well the city crews cleaned out the streams and canals. What part of the island do you live on?

Re: Hurricane Lane

Yup lots of old homes, and by old I mean homes built in the 50's and 60's and even older. Currently there is no law that forces homeowners to bring them up to standard. The newer houses should be...

You're sort of right. From what I read storms originating in northeast Pacific are hurricanes and those originating in northwest Pacific are typhoons. Mexico is northeast Pacific which is...

Re: Hurricane Lane

I sure hope it does. Most homes are old single wall construction type houses that really do not fare well against hurricane force winds. Hurricane Iniki in 1992 leveled parts of Kauai.

Hurricane Lane

We just dodged Hurricane Hector a few weeks back but we may not be so lucky with this one. Coworker of mine just said the lines in Costco and Costco's gas station are crazy. Hurricane watches have...
