Re: Dont' buy from Speed-Star Racing cali = Bad business!
What kind of black coating it being done?
is it state of the art finishing or something mystical like that?
Here's my take on this.
1) Despite the customer buying your coating service through your authorized dealers you are the one doing the coating therefore you are the one responsible to get the cover back to him in a timely manor. 30 days would be the longest it should take regardless if you save money and do them in batches.
2) If things come up (new tech, machine breaks down, you can't collect enough covers to meet a "batch quota") you should always, always contact client who already has his waiting and give him the option
a) explain the delay and accurate ETA, if he is okay with it, it is his risk on waiting if another delay will come up.
b) offer refund (work with dealer who collected funds) and you ship his cover back for free.
c) return his valve cover with out giving him the option because the logic in that is that you do not risk a bad rep. Sure you loose profit on one valve cover but you do not risk the chance of something like this happening and having a client rant about how long it's taking to get 1 cover coated. If you return it to him, what is he going to say.... "they took my valve cover for 3 months and couldn't coat it and return it to me". No harm no foul
OP, I do hope you get your cover shipped back to you at no cost & just go with someone else. This time don't let anyone jerk you around for more than 20-30days tops.

At this point I've been jerked off so much, my dick is black and blue and sore.

Re: Dont' buy from Speed-Star Racing cali = Bad business!
His cover was shipped to a 3rd party shop for install. His cover was shipped fine. He even acknowledged that the cover was received fine via thread post. One month later he says there are blemishes...know that is the truth. So we are to blame?

Re: Dont' buy from Speed-Star Racing cali = Bad business!
I've contacted the owner and apologized for the delays and said his cover is now ready....sending pics to him soon.
We didn't scam him out of a cover, why would we want a cover anyhow it's not worth that much in it OEM form.
Basically it's very difficult, time consuming and expensive to do this coating. There were some technical things we had to iron out before releasing our version 2.0. Unfortunately it took longer than expected but we got it down to a science now.

Re: Dont' buy from Speed-Star Racing cali = Bad business!
here is the full story:
Gentek1145 was a dealer for us. he has the customer's money, not me!
I'm actually talking with actual customer and he's ok with waiting for his cover.
so I dunno why he's bitchin etc
If there's an issue we will do our best to resolve it. bottom line, that's why I went and spoke to actual customer.
There is always 2 sides to every story.
for every 1 unhappy customers, we have countless others who are completely happy and stoked with our product and services!!! How else would we have been featured in Honda Tuning, Dsport, Modified etc...
I could find every post about ppl not happy bout S2carbonwork's service and post it here and everywhere but then I'd just be a bitch!!

Re: Dont' buy from Speed-Star Racing cali = Bad business!
IMO you seemed like a legit shop when I was an active member on ephatch. Although you are having a problem with a customer/dealer etc..., YOUR name is getting thrown in the mud. If i was the owner of speedstar racing I would be getting this guy his valve cover ASAP and possilby discounts towards future purchases.
