Default don't buy exedy clutches from eClutchmaster on e-bay!!! (read)

I purchased what was suppose to be a exedy clutch from a company called eClutchmaster on e-bay.

I was charged $50 for 2nd day air. The clutch never showed up they agreed to refund me for there shipping error.

When the clutch showed up a week later it was not an exedy clutch. I could have bought what they sold me from pepboys.

Then I got on the exedy site and found that they have a portion of their site dedicated to warning people about fake exedy clutches from e-bay.
see warning here...
http://www.daikin-clutch.com/t...shtml

I am sending the clutch back next day air tomorrow and ordering a new clutch from clutchnet.com Atleast I know what i'll be getting.

What a waste of time for me, stay away from these guys.

The crappy part is that since I purchased the clutch over the phone and not threw an e-bay transaction I can't leave any negative feed back.

Just warning you guys eClutchmasters does not sell exedy clutches, they are knock offs!

i just checked my clutch right now, and it doesn't have any of those rivets at all, it looks totally different, and doesn't have the stamps on the plate. my plate says "daiken clutch" imprinted on the plate.

i am pretty sure it is real, since i got it from the shop mach3, and it came in a exedy racing box, which is silver and blue.

hoping it's real....this thread got me uncomfortable.

i dont think mine is real....the symbols don't match up and it has "seco" written on it.

Maybe i should contact ebay, file for mail fraud or contact my credit card company.

Their response..James isn't even my name....its jason ames.

Hello James,
Please disregard the email we have sent you.
We thought it was something else.
According to bid history, you place a bid on eBay item number 2452476486
ECLIPSE TALON LASER TURBO EXEDY CLUTCH KIT .
It is Exedy (Diakin) clutch and we put Exedy clutch box contain Exedy clutch
in our blue box to to protect the part during delivery.
Can you see the Exedy logo on the pressure plate??? DK logo?
We have sent you a right part for your application.
IT IS NOT A IMITATION PACKAGED IN USED EXEDY BOX, WE DO NOT DO SUCH A THING.
You can file a claim to eBay, credit card company, lawyer since we have sent
same clutch advertised on eBay description.
We will go from there.

I just got mine from prostreetonline. The pressure plate has Exedy and made in Japan on it, and the friction plate doesn't have Exedy logo but made in USA?

i acutally purchased an exedy clutch from eclutchmasters last year and i was pleased with what I got, not to mentioned they were very friendly and provided good service. i've taken the clutch down to the track a number of times and done a number of burnouts with no slippage at all. my homie bought a clutch from eclutchmasters also with great results. i guess we got genuine exedy clutches. maybe its just you.

Well I wouldn't argue the fact that you have or dont have an Exedy clutch...however really any clutch will hold up for awhile. Say perhaps you dont have an exedy but a cheaper copy your prob. losing a little power in the hook-up dept.

Again Im sure we all hope you got the authentic thing.
