they also take advantage of canadians. when purchasing an imported car here in ontario you make sure its not from tiger. if it is something will go wrong, and quick. heard some horror stories from people about week old GTR's, a few RX7's and random other cars. tiger is the worst place to go too. sorry to hear about your luck man. if your gonna do business with an ontario company make sure you do business with teknotik.

Mike contacted me via e-mail a few hours ago and requested that I call him because he had an offer for me. In exchange for resolving my feedback threads(including this one), he would resolve my unhappy experience with TJ and refund me the original purchase price of the motor minus shipping. I edited my first-posts on these threads, and he sent me the refund via paypal. A deal's a deal, so this is the conclusion of my story.

Thanks.

I hope you get something out of this...they sound super shady.

Just don't understand how some people are in business in such manner, obviously they are there to only make money or hurting for money that they'll do anything to rip people off.

they will always be hurting for money. no1 around here wants to buy from them. id rather not import a car, drive if for 2 weeks and have the motor blow. only to be told by them im S.O.L and have to fix it myself.

Hey bro...sorry bout the bad luck but I hope I can educate you a lil bit on recording phone calls.

Your state like mine is a one party consent state. Which means only one party has to know the call is being recorded. And that one party is you. I have used it in my state of Mississippi and was legal in court.

You can look here.

The law where the call is being recorded from is what you need to be concerned with.

I don't think someone in japan is gonna sue you if you live in states over 700 bucks over a phone recording.

Try setting them up or something. Tell them you are so and so in the U.K. and you have some k series motors for cheap...get some fake pics blah blah....use there tricks agains them.

This is what i would do depending on how bad they screwed me over. Get their address, fly out there, and throw a Molotov cocktail inside and drive back and watch it burn from afar.

I wonder if Tiger knows how bad their reputation is. Have you posted this on multiple forums? Email them the links to all these threads and tell them that by ripping you off on a $700 motor they have potentially lost alot of business.

I filed claims with www.ic3.gov, the FTC and the BBB. Paypal has on record that I disputed the transaction and if these disputes add up then TJ will lose their PayPal account. Beyond that, there was/is nothing else I could do except learn from it.
It's an unfortunate situation but I think you'd agree that you're lucky to have only lost out on $700.

Most people in this area know how shitty they are and don't deal with them. It's really too bad that more non-locals aren't aware of their shady dealings but I think this thread will make a big difference. I will most certainly add this story to my "Why you shouldn't buy from TJ" Rolodex.

Damn.

That is exactly why I buy all my performance engine modifications and engines from my local Auto Zone.

Sorry to hear about your woes with TigerJapanese. I too received the wrong B20 engine. I called them about 8 times before actually placing my order and made them verify that I would be getting a 99-01 B20 "PHK" high compression, knock sensor, 84mm head engine. They kept saying yes yes yes yes yes. When I got the engine, I unwrapped it, no knock sensor it was a low compression, low horsepower engine . I also ordered a JDM SIR II transmission. The engine was in good shape except the PCV valve was broken and the distributor cap was as well.

The transmission ended up having a race differential in it (clutch type), either spoon or quaife. When I got my car working and took it out for a test drive I thought something was wrong because the transmission clunked when I turned at low speed. I should have realized what I had when I went to put the second axle in and the wheel wouldnt turn with the other side of the car on the ground. lol.

I tried to return the transmission but they said i'd have to pay shipping. I was able to sell the transmission for enough money to buy a USDM ITR transmission without taking a loss. The engine was a beast though, no problems with it at all. It took all the beating I gave it, and I eventually put a GS-R head on it and put down 181whp 135tq.

I will never buy from them again, I really wanted that PHK motor (high compression b20) but didnt want to wait another 4 weeks and/or pay more money for another engine. Had I gotten my motor in the shape you got yours I might have reconsidered but I guess I lucked out with them. Good luck!
