Default ****Scammer alert "Hondatron"****

Im not a huge poster here on honda-tech but i do buy and sell frequently on here ..on the 22 of june i sent this guy $1,550 for a gsr tranny and clutch..it starts out looking shady cuz it took him 2 weeks just to send me a shipping number then the day comes when i get my package i open it up and he had sent me to two half shafts and a crappy four puck disc only and he packs the hell out of the box with cardboard so then i call him and he doesnt answer. finally he calls me and makes up some bs about it being a mix up and that fedex had messed up his shippment...he told me he had sent the tranny to someone else and they were sending it back..two days later i try to call him and nothing. i proceeded the next four days to call him and he finally changed both his numbers...his user name is "hondatron" here on h-t and his real name is John Micheal Simas from trenton new jersy i have his full address and everything but sadly im not that big of an ******* to post it up i live in miami so there nothing i can do about it

Wow, what an *** that dude. That's some shady crap to be doing.

What PayPal Claim did you File it as? Was it "Item Not As Described" or was it "Item Not Received"?

I hope, for your sake, that it was "Item Not as Described" ... If that's the case then rest assure PayPal will return you the Money in Full as long as you ship back the item to the buyer (whatever it was you received) with a Tracking Number (do it through UPS dont use USPS). If you did "Item Not Received", then you might be **** out of luck with PayPal because as long as he provides a Tracking Number to them showing something was Delivered to your Address he is (in their eyes) good to go.

If you did "Item Not Received" what I would do is call PayPal directly and explain the situation to them, something this important should be spoken with someone directly forget emails. Let them know about the Open Claim and everything that happened. When speaking with them do not be calm about the whole issue, show the representative how pissed you are, but do not disrespect them of course. Ask for the issue to be resolved now and that you want a Full Refund after you send back the items you received which was not what you were suppose to get to begin with. Explain that its $1550 and not pocket change. If the representative tells you that they will try to resolve the issue or to just give it a few more days, say "No" and tell him/her you want to speak/escalate the call to their Manager ASAP. Do not budge, do not let them smooth talk you onto letting it slide for a few more days until a decision is made. You want this resolved NOW! That's the mentality you have to call with.

In the end, try to get this to be the Resolution of the case ...

- You return the wrongfully sent items back to the Seller (at your expense)
- Provide PayPal with Return Tracking Number via UPS
- Upon Delivery of Items Returned you are Refunded Money in Full

It will work out as long as you escalate that call (it may take a few tries, but get it escalated) and are not calm throughout the call. You need to show some emotion as to how angry and pissed you are, but remember its not the representative's fault so dont curse or be an ******* to him/her.

I had something like this just happen to me and in the end I received my money back in full minus return shipping.

Good luck!

I used to know him through a friend a long time ago. over 5 yrs ago. he's been in the honda game a long time(late 90's) there are definately people on here who know him.

He used to have a black 99 or 00 SI he ran in SFWD, post something in the drag racing forum and I can guarantee a lot of people in there know him. I'm kinda surprised since he didn't really come off like a scammer but you never know these days. 1500 for a stock gsr trans and a clutch is insane.

I don't know how to get a hold of him these days or I'd help you out. Good luck man, and john if your reading this, you gotta be over 30 yrs old, if this is true you better grow the **** up.

That's a lot of useful information for the OP. I'm sure he will truly appreciate that.

BTW, it was a GSR Tranny w/ Clutch, but with Quaife LSD - from what the OP stated.

man that sucks. so i guess as long as you ship something it doesnt matter if its a sack of rocks in there and the person who pays files not received then they are screwed?!

i bought a turbo before on ebay and it came as nothing like what was described. paypal refunded me my money as soon as i shipped the item back. they are pretty good most of the time about resolving issues like that

i would have taken pics of the **** in the box as soon as i opened it up and talked to paypal asap.

hope you get it fixed up my man
