Default Who wants to autocross a Lotus Elise?

This spring, we'll be hosting the HSR Mitty weekend at Road Atlanta. We're responsible for the infield entertainment, and we're talking to the Lotus people about bringing out some Elises for people to autocross. Would that interest people? Would it get people to make the trip to Road Atlanta? (You guys are like my focus group.)

Put us down for 2 drivers.

Yes
Yes

I'm assuming that this response reserves our seat... at least 3 runs each... Winner keeps the Lotus?

Would this be down in the turn 6/7 area? I've autocrossed there before and its FUN!

PS - What would be a REAL hoot is if you guys could also get a Z06 or a Viper as well. People could do the "Light and quick" vs. "Brute power" comparison.
That'd be awesome!

Good point, I should have been more specific: April 28-May 1.

Can't speak for Scotty, but I think we should put a bit of money on this one. (or beer)

How is camping handled for the mitty? That could be sold as a "camping trip" to the wife!

I'm more worried about my significant other than you guys. She's beaten me the last 2 of 3 autocrosses and keeps paxing... Oh... #1 for the whole group.
Maybe she'll be on call that weekend and need to stay home .

And I don't have any of that money stuff (remember what thats like Bowie?), but I'll bet you guys two pretty rocks and something shiney I found in my yard.

I don't have any of that money stuff either (OPM took it all) but I figured beating you two is such a sure thing I don't need any.

I am in. Scott's in for two shiney rocks, Bowie's in for a beer each, count me in for a 3' stick of BSCI padding for each of you cheap bassards. Renee can't play on your behalf Scotty, you will have to drive for yourself this time

Would have included guys like MaxQ based on his avatar only but for some reason ... I just think his next post will insult us road racers

I like this! I might even come up with a GOOD beer for each of you if I lose, which I won't.

I say we let the autocrossers play, but we add in a time trial in the Elises to even things out! Whaddaya say David?

Number SEX!

I think you guys should include me merely to watch me get INTO an Elise. It was quite comical the first time I did it... took three approaches.

Not a time trial.

Radar gun speed at the apex of turn 1.
THAT I'd love to see.

I drove farther than that to do some crappy Mazdaspeed event.

I'd consider driving a couple hours to do it, but not from Chicago.
