Traction bar use with spherical bearings?

I got a set of Hardrace spherical bushings installed on my front LCA. My traction bar connects to the lower fork mount. Would this cause undo stress on the bushing in a way it was not designed to handle?

Not sure if it would cause them added stress, but I would imagine the spherical bearings may make the traction bars kind of redundant since what they mostly limit is bushing deflection.

I guess you hit the other point I forgot to make. Is there a reason for the traction bars anymore? I can't really figure out why. Especially for a road race car.

Don, the front suspension on your car was never designed to work with traction bars! get rid of them. Any road racer that can actually drive, or knows a little about EG/EK/DC2 suspension will tell that traction bars might be fine if you are a Drag Racer but they bind everything up when circuit racing. Fit a PCi Front LCA Bronze bushing kit including the compliance bushings, and that will solve any traction or braking deflection problems.
I have then in stock.

Hej Jeff,

What PCi Front LCA Bronze bushing kit including the compliance bushing are you talking about?
I could not find it on your new website.

Are there any downsides using these bushings on a street car?

Like Kiwi said, ditch the traction bar. If you really want to eliminate LCA deflection while virtually eliminating stiction you could convert your compliance bushing to a spherical.

I offer this application.

Fudgecicles. I just bought a set of hardrace compliance bushings. I might be able to offload them for a minimal lose. Pop me an IM with more info.

Checked out your site. Really wish I would had found out about you before ordering all this hardrace stuff which was shipped from Taiwan.

Well, this didn't take long. Front LCA inner bushing has popped out on me:

Which brand is this? I think I am in the same situation.

I believe he said hardrace

Re: Traction bar use with spherical bearings?

Yes, Hardrace (direct from Taiwan) . I'm being informed from the supplier I purchased it from that he believes it was an improper install. (I'm not sure there is a wrong way to install a bushing.) because it was "user error" , it means that it's not covered under warranty. And if I want a replacement , it looks like I have to buy a whole new set.

Ya, a bushing either goes in or it doesn't.

If you all say no traction bar, does that mean I shouldn't put inner sphericals on radius rod car with a traction bar?

Don,
I don't know which HardRace dealer you got these from?
As I am suposed to be "The USA HARDRACE Distributor" If you had purchased those from me I would have- (A) Suggested you buy the Ams Complete with the bushings/bearings - or in the case of our Signature series - Bronze Bushings already installed.
The reason for this is that I actually agree with chrisB -Why are "off the shelf" mail order press fit parts very, very bad in suspension arms? Posted elsewhere on this forum.

Or (B) I would have made sure you got- Genuine Hard Race Bushings or Bearings.
Which I would have had no hesitation in replacing if there was a problem. Ask anyone who has ever dealt with me and had any kind of problem with any product!

Some may not be aware that there are people on Ebay using the Hardrace "logo" even giving the impression they are HardRace, selling God knows what! which is completely without the knowledge or permission of Hardrace Taiwan.

FWIW
