I clipped it down. This is where I set the track record in ITA at Pacific Raceways. It was during a race and I only held the record for 2 laps when the CRX I was racing beat it by 2 tenths 2 laps later. Ugh.

Re: Track Video(s) Too Good Not to Share...
Ran a track day this weekend with the rally car as a shakedown for my race coming up next month. This was my fastest lap of the weekend. Probably put a full session up at a later time.

Thunderhill Turn Eight @ 106.5
Wide open throttle from Thunderhill's turn seven through the apex of eight was more than I could handle. Traqmate Data logging registered 106.45 mph and 2.06 g right load at apex of eight. On new Hoosier R6's.
A better driver would not have put so much input into the car. In slow motion, you can see that. Regardless, I was happy to stay in the center of the track and continue on for the weekend. NCRC Race March 3, 2012

I'm curious...what was your apex speed, or entry speed, in 8 on your fastest lap of the day?

Wow David you are off the hook... Good save!
I was there for Jeremy's race last year and he had more than one white knuckled moments during that race.
He saved his bacon a few times, and then fought a broken race car to take the checkers!

Certainly there are drivers who could have drifted that adhesion limit perfectly without my rookie drama. What I learned is for me right now, it best to breath the throttle prior to entry in so doing checking my speed at 105 or just under. Improving the odds that there is a tomorrow for me and the car.
Still makes me nervous watching the damn vid.

the stakes in eight, fortunately no damage of any consequence, and I was told it went airborn:

F1 Ferrrari Scorches Infineon

At 1:24:xx this Ferrari F2003-GA F1 car scorches Infineon last weekend during Ferrari Days. Saw this session in person, the shriek of the F1 car ripping Infineon was spectacular. Had to have been 115+ db's
~170 mph into turn one ! I'm not convinced he's got the line everywhere. Certainly could not have driven the track many times in that car... Track out of two, and through turn's 3-4, sort of mid track. I would have played it safe too.

Re: F1 Ferrrari Scorches Infineon
I've got to say I'm always less impressed with these ultra-light, high downforce cars going quickly at any track than I am with sportscars and touring cars. The downforce cars have insane levels of grip and do not move around...easier, ultimately, IMHO. It's th ereason I am radiply changing my view of the skill of NASCAR drivers. JP Montoya and others strufggle in that discipline shows how hard it is to wrangle that kind of weight transfer, limited braking capability, etc......Cool vids though, not to be a complete hijacker...
