Time duration on track per tank of fuel?
Hello, we have a Civic Sedan track car with a stock internal B18c1 and ITR transmission. We have done a few endurance races with it and I feel like we're just using too much fuel. The engine is dyno tuned and not running rich and maybe, if anything, a bit lean. After an hour of racing we're having to put in 10 gallons of fuel to fill it back up. Does this seem too high? If not, thats ok, I just want to compare to others.
Thanks

seems normal.
ive torched 5 gallons of gas in 1 HPDE session and it was more or less empty by the end but i suspect my fuel sending unit is alittle off as the car is old and has high miles
im running a stock gsr motor w/ a 9 lb fly wheel.

I bet one full tank in the GSR (stock jdm b18c) would last all day / 4 - 20 minute sessions. but I usually refill after the third session for piece of mind.

When this turbo gives out I'll probably swap to more modern design, likely a BW S252SX-E if i stick with journal bearing or look into the new Garret G series G25-550 turbo if i decide to fork out the money for a ball bearing.

Re: Time duration on track per tank of fuel?
Been fielding a CRX in Lemons/WRL for the past 5 yrs. Both the D16y8 and B16 get about 1:45-1:50 out of 11.5 gallons. I really wish we could hit the 2:00 mark. I would try to lose some weight, and make the car more aerodynamic/slippery.
Keeping the revs down also helps, but that isn't any fun.

Re: Time duration on track per tank of fuel?
it all depends on the track... I get a lot better fuel economy at Summit than I do VIR... the long straights have something to do with burning more fuel (go figure).
gearing has a lot to do with it... when I was on a 4.4 FD and using gears 2/3/4/5 (a lot less of 5) I wasn't burning nearly as much fuel. now with the 4.928 FD I'm burning about 9 gallons/hr at VIR and about 7.5 gallons/hr at Summit.
