Rear motor mount suggestions for sustained hard abuse?

I have been through a multitude of rear motor mount options for my rallyx car. Does anyone have any setups that have lasted a long time?

Thanks

Have you tried poly and aluminum mounts, like Hasport?

Are you breaking the mount, or is the bushing failing?

Hasport or Innovative. never had either fail.
What is it that you call hard abuse?

From what he posted in his other thread, its a dedicated rally car, B20/GS-R/JRSC.

Testify is correct. That is my setup.

I have been through stock, poly inserts, and softer Hasport ones. Blew the 60A hasport one out in a matter of a handdful of races. I pressed out the that one and put in a larger outer sleeve, a new inner, and harder durometer bushing. That one lasted a while, but moved around some. I have since made that mount solid. It now resides in my backup car (stock gsr, welded diff) and is really harsh.

I was looking at the 90A innovative and 92A hasport. I would like some compliance for the rest of the components. I had put basically a turnbuckle (threaded rod with rod ends) as replacement for one of those shock dampers on my EK and I think it attributed to issues with shearing bolts/etc. due to the vibration.

Are you using the torque mounts?
If not you should be.
There are some threads about Hasport recommending people reinstall them.
The use of their mounts does not negate the need for them being removed, contrary to popular opinion.
Innovative mounts do come with 4 optional urethane stiffness levels, and of course solid billet.
That will cause some fillings to rattle loose?

I am not using the torque mounts. I dont recall seeing the aftermarket stiffer ones. I dont think the stock ones would be of any use installed. I think there needs to be some compliance in the mounts and feel that solid mount may cause issues. However, if there is proof to the contrary I am more than happy to listen use solid mounts. It's a race car and I could care less about NVH :)

It isn't about the individual strength of a mount when the engine was designed to have 5 total. I would wager with new oem torque mounts your rear will live longer. Hell, in some junkyard ones with window-weld if you need it cheaper/stiffer. Cheaper than a new innovative/hasport every "handful" of races.

Re: Rear motor mount suggestions for sustained hard abuse?

You're crazy if you don't have the front two mounts on your car.

Even a set of stock torque mounts will limit the movement to only about an inch of movement in any direction.

Your motor is all over the place without them.

Prothane or Energy likely sell inserts for them in the EK application if you can't fund fancy ones. Or just inject some stock ones.

But either way, you should definitely be running all the motor mounts.

Avid racing makes a decent aftermarket torque mount.
You can find them on of all places ebay, or the usual JDM online parts stores.
Prices vary from 60-120 bux

excellent. I will look into Avid's mounts. Thanks for the help!
