Pole Position Raceway - Indoor GoKart Video -GoPro
So I went to test out my GoPro at the (fairly) new Pole Position Indoor Go Kart track near my house in Frisco, TX.
As the description says, skip to 4:00 if you want the best action. There was a couple remote control slow downs in the run. Though there is a funny exchange starting @ 2:20 or so due to a slowdown...
It wasnt a perfect run by any means. It was my first time at this track, 2nd session, and first time in an electric kart in a LONG time. Though it was good enough to be rated as an "expert" level laptime.
Next video will be when I go to DKC (60mph max gas powered karts). CANT. WAIT.
Here is the video (available in up to 720p) youtu.be/zS1Wa6YA_WU

not to pee on your parade, but, there's no science behind that rating. They pretty much rate everyone "expert". I worked with the developers for their timing app.
but, I do enjoy PPR... especially since our other indoor karting place has the most beat-up gas karts known to man.

I like how you said "sorry" after a bump lol. I've never been in an electric kart before, only gas-powered, but they sound crazy!

Completely agree. I prefer gas karts myself!

Either way, good to see the course layout for that track. I'll be in the DFW area for work in a few weeks, was going to check it out and run a few races.

I went to the one out in Las Vegas a few months back. I raced 3 times and had a blast. I never took my foot off of full throttle, I just tapped the brake when I needed to slow down and it seemed like I got a burst once I let off of the brake. They tell you not to do this of course, but it gave me faster lap times.

Dude, forget the mixed reviews, they are the best carts around. Coming from a guy with 20+ sessions at DKC, its the best money I spend.
Plenty of youtube videos. Heres one, not the best

Just did both DKC and Pole Position near Dallas tonight. Did a session at DKC on their super track and did a best of 75.5 (1:15.5). I think with another session or two I could drop another two seconds. The course is good fun, except a few places where the course is super slick (ie braking zones). The two karts I had, one had corded tires, the other's seat wouldn't move forward, so I was outstretched at the wheel.
P2R... Course flowed well, karts are magnificent. But they are also brand new. Did a best of a 26.2... Would be able to drop maybe .5 with another session. Maybe.
If DKC wasn't in the middle of nowhere and had better karts, that place would be amazing.

Plus, you aren't really letting the kart "rotate", especially in a "tight" corner. some bigger radius corners, you could get away with it. but, it would probably be better to give it a "breath" instead of riding the brakes.
ie, fast forward to about 2:13, no brake, just a lift. adequate rotation. If I stay wot and try riding the brake, I'm off in the weeds.
