!! PIKES PEAK TIME ATTACK !! - FALKEN TIRES is looking for a few good men...
...or women!
My friends at Falken asked me to spread the word.
The Falken tires, Pikes Peak Time Attack will be held next Saturday, 25th of June on the ASPHALT part of the course. (Sorry Lee, no gravel rally).
THEY ARE IN NEED OF SERIOUS FWD COMPETITORS!!! There are a few open FWD spots that need to be desperately filled...
Greg told me to put the word out, and let the racers know- so THAT MEANS YOU!
I am JUST THE MESSENGER, so please take all technical questions up with them. The email they sent me is below...
Also, you MUST run Falken tires at this event, which will be given to you at a discounted price if you are serious about entering. And it will be FREE to register.
Sounds like fun! But the tow is a little long for us San Diegans, and I aint sure about this Touge thing...
So, if you ever wanted to create "relationships" with a potential tire sponsor- go help 'em out, fill the spots, and have some fun while you're at it. Its a great opportunity!
Now go be Gangsta!!!

Heres the email from Falken Tire:
Dennis,
YO, HERE IS THE INFO FOR THE GUYS ON THE HONDA-TECH RR FORUM
What you want to tell them is that we are looking for cars to fill FOUR
spots in the Front wheel drive class at our Pikes Peak Time Attack.
This event is our first, and it will take place on the famous Pikes
Peak. The course that is laid out is completely paved and they would
race up and then back down the mountain (time trial). This event will be covered by
multiple Magazines, and I believe Speed Channel will be there. The
vehicles that we are looking for must be competition worthy vehicles,
roll cages, harness', all the fixings for a road racing machine. We do
require all the participants to be running on the new Azenis RT-615
tires. We will be offering these tires at a discounted rate for those
interested in the event and the registration for the event is taken care
of by Falken Tire. The sizes that we have available for the Front Wheel
Drive Segment are as follows:
195/60/14
205/50/15
205/40/16
205/40/17
215/40/17
These sizes should work in this segment, if not we have others
available. So in theory the only cost would be the travel expenses,
lodging, and the tires. Let them now that the event is next weekend,
and that if they have any questions to contact me, Greg Hatton at
ghatton@falknetire.com; or Nick Fousekis at Nfousekis@falkentire.com.
Thanks Dennis, I will talk to you soon.

Re: !! PIKES PEAK TIME ATTACK !! - FALKEN TIRES is looking for a few good men... (D.CACO)
Hey guys, thanks for spreading the word. I hope that if anyone is thinking of running this event, please have a fully prepped car as stated above. This looks to be a very exciting event, and the press will be great for your sponso rs! We here at L-Con couldn't have all our cars at the event so we sent 2 mitsu evo VIII's, for the AWD group. Good luck to Doug and Sam! Hope you all can get there, if not, good luck to you in your races here at home. late.

Thanks for posting this Dennis,
Once again my sincerest apologies to FALKEN for the invitation, then having to pull our 4 cars out of the event at the last moment. With our Transporter and Tom Lepper and our Crew in Mosport Canada for the Grand Am Cup Race in the Chevy Cobalt (Qualified 2nd. on Friday) Well done Tom! It was just an impossible task to get the transporter back here, load up go to Colorado, then get back in time for our HONDA CUP Championship event the following weekend July 8-10 at Thunder Hill. I personally was really looking forward to the event... Kiwi's have always done well there!!! By the way (Kiwi- Flightless native bird of New Zealand).. Not much use if I miss a turn and go off the edge anyway?
Any way, good luck to anyone that can make it, And good luck FALKEN with what I'm sure will be a great event.

I have an autoX and time trial car. Very unmodified but running Falkens. Not a Honda either but is FWD. What are the car/tech requirements?

I am not sure what their requirements are. You can contact them at:
Greg Hatton at ghatton@falknetire.com; or Nick Fousekis at Nfousekis@falkentire.com.
Hope it works out for you!

Wish I could go all I would need is a roll cage.
