Re: One Lap CRX - Ann & Andy Hollis
Final wrap-up:
10th Overall!!
We were second in the autocross early on, which got us into the top ten the first day. We hung right around 10th with solid performances at Summit and CMP. Daytona was a thrill as we hit 145 on the high banks. Also had fun passing friend Jason Saini (Mazdaspeed5) coming out of the horseshoe. Did very well at No Problem and Barber to solidify our tenth place, but fell back to 12th at Autobahn snce a number of competitors had significant seat time there. So it all came down to the final dry skid pad. We pulled out every trick we knew and came within thousandths of the track record. Later, a pair of GT-R's reset it, but our 3rd place put us back into 10th for the event.
We pretty much brought just enough car and driver to get into the big trophies, which is also where we finished last year. Next year, we'll bring more power, less weight and better aero.
Here's a pic from Summit

Re: One Lap CRX - Ann & Andy Hollis
Just a quick heads-up that national autocross season is over (and so is the Texas heat!) and it's time to start preparations for next year's One Lap. This means the OneLapCRX.com web site will be updated regularly again, so if you want to follow along click the link in the .sig.
Just finished a quick Walbro install and we are heading off to Hastings and High Plains later this week for some lapping day recon for the 2012 One Lap. Hallet, Mid-America, Autobahn, Road America and Bairnerd are also on this year's route, but we won't likely get to any of those other than maybe Hallet.

Re: One Lap CRX - Ann & Andy Hollis
2012 Update:
Click the CRX link in sig for details. Scroll back through the timeline and see what we've been up to for the last year. 2012 event s just a month away now and we are up to our ear in alligators getting ready.
Snippets:
New high-compression (12.5:1) motor is in the car and running. Tuning it now to work on pump premium for the transits. Might have to run race gas/E85 or Torco Accelerator for track sessions. We'll see. Between the compression and new RRC manifold, we picked up 20-25 hp.
This year's route is: Tire Rack wet skid pad=>South Bend Speedway (circle track)=>Autobahn=>Mid-America=>Hallet=>High Plains=>Hastings=>Brainerd=>Road America=>Tire Rack dry pad. Also doing an autocross at Hastings and drags at Brainerd.
We did recon at High Plains and Hastings last Fall, and refreshed our memory of Hallett last weekend. Only track we have not been to is Brainerd.
Ann is staying home to assist our daughter who is due this week with our second grandkid. Instead, we'll be assisted by Alan Cesar from GRM, new presenting sponsors for OLOA this year. So we are the "magazine car". Alan has only a mild idea of what he has gotten himself into. Should be fun to watch the realization set in over the course of the week.
Competition for the top-10 will be super-stiff this year, as a bunch of previously-AWOL folks are returning this year, and others are expanding. For example, Roush and Autobarn are supposedly each sending three cars stacked with pros. We'll be lucky to make top-15. Watch as we battle it out with the big dogs in our lowly "junkyard dog"
We're also stuck smack-dab in the R-S3 backorder mess and are making contingency plans with other tires. Bummer, but such is life. One Lap brings new and unexpected challenges every year.
We'll update some here, but for sure a lot on the FB page. Don't need to be a FB member to view the content, just to comment.

Re: One Lap CRX - Ann & Andy Hollis
I admire people that can drive CRX's quickly.... they always seem like trying to hang on to a greased chicken that can run the 100 meters in 2.0 seconds....way too twitchy for me, give me some wheelbase!!

Re: One Lap CRX - Ann & Andy Hollis
Event is one week away and we are thrashing madly.
Drivetrain is out of the car for re-gearing, shocks are being revalved, rear suspension is being redone, and we've got tire issues to solve (RS3's on backorder and won't arrive until after the event).
Clink on the sig "track" link to follow along as the madness continues...

Re: One Lap CRX - Ann & Andy Hollis
We're here in South Bend, car is stickered up, and we start tomorrow with three events:
wet skid pad at Tire Rack, South Bend Speedway (circle track) and then Autobahn. By tomorrow night, we should be in Omaha. OneLapCRX.com to follow us.
PS: The Turbo Honda Odyssey that isrun by some of the empoyees from the Honda plant in Alabama is running this year. That thing is awesome.
