What is this crap?
Re: The Official Formula 1 2019 Season Thread
GA is now saying that Merc has the lowest rake of all the teams
the other teams with high rake have the front wing lower to the ground, so it generates more downforce because of the proximity to ground (ground effect). this enables them to have outwash wing while merc needs to use a traditional wing to generate the same amount of downforce with their wing higher off the ground.
apparently when you account for fuel loads and tyres the merc is a couple tenths off the red cars

Re: The Official Formula 1 2019 Season Thread
I have absolutely zero faith that Renault can climb away from the GP 1.5 pack, which I think Alfa/TR/McLaren are going to make even moar competitive. Haas might end up behind all those teams and I'm not confident RP will have their stuff together.
Also the tyre deltas everyone has been using are laughable. BOT did a 18.2 on a set of C2s which is a similar pace to what LEC did on the same compound in the AM. I think the Merc has very similar pace to the Ferrari. I don't care that BOT only did a few laps with the C2 when he did the 18.2 and 18.3. Merc always have their car fuel heavy in testing.

When you're hot, you're hot
Mclaren was doing some extra running on a filming day, including some laps in conjunction with a McLaren road car.
A statement from the team noted: "There was a small fire in the garage during the team's private filming day. The fire was quickly extinguished by the team, and circuit emergency services and medical teams attended immediately in support.

You cray
i think the last diecast I got was early 2000ish schumacher - might have been 2003 or 2004. Have all WDC cars from 1997 to 200(3) in 1/18 scale. None of them are on display currently. Packed in boxes.

That's a cool collection!
I was a fan of Days of Thunder. The ice cream and hit the pace car scenes actually happened for real during different races.I even think the ice cream event led to a fight in the pits lol.

Well to be fair, he has a long way to go. Schumacher hit 91 victories so p much the total of Prost and Senna combined at #2 & #3 with 51 and 41 wins. For Lew to surpass the goat to BE the goat/boat, he'll need to hit a total win count of the #2 and #3 - which would be Schumacher at 91 PLUS Vettel at 52, so Lew needs 143 wins. With Vettel's number possibly growing, so too will Hamiltons target. He's only at 73 wins so far, so he's only halfway there.

Now for something completely different...
I don't like all the hand waving voodoo going on to account for fuel/tyres especially when PU modes aren't known. I think TR might be a little low on that list. Kvyat and Albon both made it sound like they weren't really trying (not that anyone was). I believe the fast time for Kvyat on D3 was an accidnet, they weren't even trying to go that quickly from what he said lol.
