More LSD talk
The last race at Rockingham I wasn't too pleased with how my diff was performing. I decided to go ahead and pull the tranny for rebuild, and am seriously considering just welding the thing up to see if I like it or not. I've seen old ford diff's welded, but just want to make sure I hit it in the right spot. What is the best way to weld it up? Its a stock R diff.

Re: More LSD talk (bosco500)
Get a spool. So in case u dont like it you can put in the R diff back in.

First thing you need to do is get an open differential that fits your ring gear. You don't want to weld the type r diff. http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/album...0174.thumb.jpg At a minimum you want to weld the spider gears together like in the picture. You can also weld the gears to the housing. Try not to heat the unit up too much, as it can warp. |

Re: More LSD talk (.RJ)
If you're going to weld it up, make sure you insert the axles into the diff prior to welding and then weld the spider gears. It won't transfer enough heat to the axles to screw them up and ensures the welded diff's splines will line up with the axles when installed. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: More LSD talk (Mr.Noodles)
spools are cheap and cut down on rotational mass..
