Pretty much what the topic says... The application would be track events, street driving, maybe a little auto-x. The car would be a civic hatchback in the 2000-2300lb range. LSD, sticky tires, and good suspension would also be present.

I'm looking for feedback from people who've actually driven high-horsepower cars on track, at autocross, etc. Also, how different ways of achieving that power affects its manageability, for example, turbo vs. supercharger vs. NA.

My friend has a JRSC GSR @ 9psi. ~240whp ~190wtq At Deals Gap if he floored it in 2nd it would just blow the front tires off of it, but in 3rd it would pull VERY hard out of the turns.

He has 600#f/400#r springs, Koni Yellow, ITR LSD, ITR rear swaybar, gutted interior (weighed 23xx on the scales), but on the stock Michelin tires. He is going to the Speedtrial event at VIR next month on AO32Rs, i'll let ya know how he does there.

There is a guy who posts in here occasionally that i've seen at autoxs, has a turbo 4th gen Civic HB, gutted etc, i don't know how much power he has, but he runs in E-Mod, and has gotted FTD at every event i've seen him run in.

All of it. If...

A. You have an LSD.
B. You have a proper suspension set-up (Stiffer REAR springs help resist weight transfer to the rear tires).
C. You know how to apply that power. AKA - You know how to drive.

A Trans-Am (the race series, not the car) racer friend of mine once said if you can't break traction all the way down the front straight, you don't have enough horsepower.

So how much power would it take to stay at the edge of traction up to say 60-70 MPH with autocross tires on a CRX?
