how do you wrap harnesses around harness bar?
i'm having trouble wrapping my harnesses around my harness bar
my harness is similar to this:
and i read through threads..and i still don't know how to wrap it, since the metal piece that's supposed to bolt up to the c-pillar area or w/e is in the way..
am i supposed to cut the metal piece off or what? and sorry for being a noob..but i just want to do things right the first time around..without regrets ya know? thanks guys in advance

Looks like you bought the bolt in type. You need a wrap around harness. And please dont do the jdm x and bolt to the floor type of deal...

this was taken from schroth..i guess it's fine if you bolt it up to the floor w/o the use of a harness bar...

do you have a schroth harness? If not then don't mount like that, mount them how the manufacture says to mount them.

i have a sparco one. i'm probably just going to convert it to a 3-point and bolt it into the c-pillar area. sucks that i can't return my harness bar..but w/e. guess the harness bar is just going to look pretty in the car then.

Mount it like sparco suggests.
If you don't, it will be dangerous and more harm then good.
the harness is designed to work mounted a specific way, if it isn't mounted that way it doesn't work.

i believe you can just replace the mounting bracket with the harness bar, assuming the mountaing bracket can be unlooped from the belt and the belt has a separate slide. I am in the sme situation as you and this is what I found.
http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/d...s.pdf
quote from page 37
"Racing harness with end brackets assembled to the shoulder belts by a 3-bar slide allow to dismount the brackets and use the 3-bar slide for wrap around installation directly to the roll cage. Also brackets can be exchanged e.g. from a snap-on to a bolt-in bracket or vice versa."

QFT... much more harm than good will come of not mounting a harness IAW the manufacturers instructions.
