I can tell you it is not a cage, it may be a roll bar however it looks unsupported and poorly designed.

Didn't APC make these? (not a joke)

Either way, it's not a real roll-bar. All for show- its basically a really elaborate mount for a chrome fire extinguisher (not included). ;P

Go to Autopower.

turboteener 09-22-2008 06:10 PM

Its scary whatever it is. Consider yourself dead or injured if you roll over on that bar.

well, you'd hit your head on it of nothing else and turn your skull to ketchup....

not a good idea.

You would be amazed how many people ask us for this type of roll bar...

I tell them that this type of roll bar is not a safety product.

i think people really under estimate how dangerous riding around the street ( without a helmet on ) in a car with a cage is. I did it for a long time and did not enen think about it untill a NASA official pointed it out https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

Or, how dangerous it is to be in a racecar where your head can strike the left side of the cage's halo in the event of an incident. Even minor incidents can cause an instant deceleration/acceleration of your head, which can lead to a concussion or more severe brain injury. That's why I have a recessed floor in my CRX to lower my head below where it could contact the cage.

I don't think that most people realize how dangerous driving in a stock street car on the street is. A roll bar or a vehicle roof structure look about the same from a physics standpoint. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif Padding with would be prudent in either case.

Make sure your next street car purchase has side CURTAIN airbags. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Jonnhy, you must be really tall, because in my race seat I am nowhere near the halo bars. I prefer to put the cage bars as far away from the driver as possible. Right now I am building a cage in a T1 Vette and I have to bring the driver's side A-pillar bar out to the top of the window channel to get it away from the driver's head. Those cars leave no room for packaging.
