Huh, interesting title you posted. I was expecting to see this when I clicked on your thread-

Which engine are you using B16 or B18...judging from that cage, you'll probably be closer to 2400lbs. (B18c1 min weight) than 2250lbs. (B16 min weight).

nice build

B16 and because of the gussets I get a 30lbs penality, so 2280lbs, so should be able to make it. the car was completetly sand basted.

Car looks great! I was not aware stitch welding the unibody was legal.

e) Tubes may be welded at any contact point, or even be “seam welded.” Additional material may be
used to connect roll cage tubing to chassis of car. I.E. A pillar bar may have material welded to
both itself and the A pillar of the car.
f) If modification number 4.9.5 above is utilized, an additional thirty (30) pound weight penalty will
apply.

I always took that to mean you were allowed to seam weld the cage to the body. But did not think you were allwed to stitch together the unibody.

correct mike, that is how i read it. The "seam welded" refers to the subject of the sentence which is Tubes.

I didn't do great in english but that is how i think it is worded.

very true, but you are taking the term completly out of context with were it is in the rule book.

The section it is under is labeled "4.9 Roll cage", the sentence (seam welding) is in is a verb (action word) and the noun is tube, not only that but seam welding is in " " which usually denotes that the term is not being used in it's tradition context or definition
