gc/shock ID q?
ok, apparently gc makes different sleeves for koni vs all other shocks. i may be looking at some used gc's this weekend, so is there an easy way to tell the difference in case the guy doesn't know what shocks these are for? i have kyb agx's sitting in the garage begging to go on my car. worst case i could just bring the shocks with and see how they fit.
i've never really messed with susp parts so a "beginner" explanation would be good. TIA
ps- i know it's a "crappy" setup , but i'm poor.

Re: gc/shock ID q? (eviladam)
The Koni's regular spring perch is not welded to the shock body. The body has a groove in it that a C-clip fits in and the perch rests upon. The GC's for the Koni's do away with the spring perch. They have an aluminium ring that has a machined lip that slides down over the C-clip. the threaded sleave then slides down over this aluminium ring.
A good way to tell is look at the threaded sleave, if the thread go all the way to the bottom of the sleave, it is made for the Koni. If the threads end and the sleave continues down they are the standard.
Hope this didn't confuse you.
