Found some rust while removing sound deadening - any issue as track car candidate?
Hey guys, I recently bought a 94 eg with the intent of using it as a novice track car while I learn. I wasn't really planning on doing much besides brakes, tires, and refreshing the bushings, but I figured I might as well strip the car down as well since it won't be used on the street at all.
While using the dry ice method to remove the tar/sound deadening on the floorboards, I found that the condition of the areas under the carpet really isn't great. Pretty surprising for an Arizona car. The driver side has a decent amount of rust, and while the passenger side is mostly clean, there are a couple of pinhole sized openings near the doorsill, and it appears to be a bit deformed in one area.
Here's a picture of the driver side to start with. Question for you guys: what would you do here? Break out a wirewheel and drill and go to town? Or is this far enough along that the only options are cut the floorpan and get a new one, or try to find another track car candidate? I'd rather not spend a fortune here, but I also don't really know about some of these holes that I can see that go through to the ground...

No that is very minor rust, just buzz it all down with a wire wheel, clean it with alcohol, and use a self etching primer. Then paint over it.
