Default Formula 1 2006

I cant wait for the season to start!

So much is going to happen!

-Scott Speed; finally an American will be back in F1
-More Bridgestone runners

I'd like to see how Felipe Massa compares to Schumi. It will be interesting to see if he will live up to his talk.

And the v8s....22k RPM+...cant wait to hear what they sound like.

and I bet Williams we be a team much better than honda, just because of the Button-gate scandle

Are you vying to be the "official" thread for the 2006 F1 season?

I was gonna say, someone wants to be at the top of yet another year-long H-T Formula 1 thread

I believe honda will have the best v8...they run indy cars.
Although Cosworth has a lot of experience with v8s too.

honda had better have the best or something has gone way wrong. the had the most power in 2005 and as you point out they run indy v8s so they know what they are doing.

judging by the Chinese GP though, if renault had that engine all season, they could have been just as dominant as maclaren

BAR should idealy do better for 06. They did okay for 05, I mean they had 0pts because of all the BS a the begining of the season. Button needs to be more aggressive, he's always get punk'd around for his position.

BIG BIG changes for '06. This should make everything wide open. Can Ferrari get their **** back together? Will someone like Red Bull emerge as the next Renault? I'm already in withdrawl.

I haven't even see the 2005 Chinese GP yet. I'm recording it tonight. I have no idea who won...

Honda's Indy V8 is a totally different animal from the F1 V8.

Everyone expected Honda to kick *** from the get-go in CART/IndyCar in 1994, but it didn't happen. The engine was crap. They were trying to apply lessons learned in F1 to IndyCars and it didn't work out.

Besides, HPD and HRD are two separate entities and I doubt a whole lot of info exchange happens. Also, Ilmor's design is the basis for the Honda Indy V8.

I think the real key to making power in the f1 motors is minimizing vibrations though.

the best part of the chinese gp was when it was over. it was a terribly boring race. there was a tiny bit of action at the end but not much.
