Flex-a-Lite Oil Cooler Kit Leaking
*FIXED IT SEE NEXT POST*
I picked up a Flex-a-Lite oil cooler for my B18C. I installed the kit using the Starion oil filter like many others have and it leaks where the filter meets the adapter. The Starion filter has a larger gasket and seals to the adapter better then the Honda filter does. I tried the Honda filter and no-go, it leaked. I'm beyond furious with this and I need help. Has anyone here had an issue with this kit? I figured the road race forum would have more people using oil coolers than the other forums so that's why I'm here.
Thank you,
Frankie

Re: Flex-a-Lite Oil Cooler Kit Leaking
The part number needed is an S3985 (STP) or a PH3985 (Fram). Use these numbers to cross reference to your favorite filter. OK so after contacting a buddy at my local AutoZone, we figured it out! The Starion filter I used was an STP S3950 (63mm OD gasket) because that's what other users of this kit had reported they used, but it leaked. So after looking at various 80's Chrysler, Jeep, and Eagle vehicles, he located a filter that is 20mm x 1.5 thread with a gasket OD of 72mm (2.8").
