Default B17A1 losing Vtec

So last race weekend durning the 1 hour race I lost vtec a few times in high rev hard corners. 7500-8000rpm. Would cut out for a second then come right back. No oil light. (no oil presure gauge yet). So i backed off the car a bit and it stoped cutting vtec in these corners, A few laps later i ran the car hard again and it did it again. It did it 3 times before i backed off a bit then once more after i tried running hard again. Race was over at that point. Came in and it was running great. No noise, good idle, and so on. So after it cooled down i checked the oil and it was just a bit over a litre low. Stock motor, oil pan, filter set-up and PCV system. Never had problems before but never was that low on oil before. I am assuming in the high load, high RPM corners it was running out of oil presure and droping vtec. Can anyone conferm this? Also there was no CEL on durning any of this.

Last weekend we picked up a bad miss witch was a bad pump/FPR. Would run high fuel presure then really low fuel presure. We cleaned the fuel rail out, injectors out installed a new pump, filter and areomotive FPR. Turned the presure up to 44-46 and the wideband is ready about 12.6 WOT. I was going to turn it down to 42PSI for the last race of the year. 3 hour enduro. But still not sure if i should or not. Car will be tuned next year i hope.

Car worked great. Last weekend i did a 1:19.2 this weekend I did a 1:18.79. Fastest the car has ever gone. Track is Atlantic motorsport park in nova scotia canada.

yes, probably a low oil pressure issue.

make sure your oil is always topped off and some people actually overfill it slightly to avoid issues like this during hard cornering.

also, look into a baffled oil pan perhaps to negate this issue even more

Search this forum for what you described. it has been covered a few times and there is much good information on this subject.
You'll narrow down what your problems may be.
Good luck!

I had a leaking/cracked oil cooler and lost enough oil that i got the same issue on sweepers during the last two laps of the race
