AutoX Frustrations Solved
Thank you to all the people who replied to my previous post but the problem has been solved for now. At Laguna Seca I had some good runs and felt that I was driving good by my standards. I took one of the pros with me on my third run and he suggested that I try breaking earlier when going into the sharper turns. During the fun runs I tried breaking earlier then I normally do and it resulted in about .5 second faster lap times. The biggest thing I notices was that by breaking earlier I reduced the amount of wheel chatter and I was able to take turns tighter.
Go slow to go fast, yeah, I beleive it now.
I was able to do a total of six runs that day and I recommend for any other new drivers to get as many runs on the same track as you can. I find it's easier to practice new techniques on a track that you have already run several times.
Unofficially I think I placed 3rd out of 5 entries in my class but I'll have to wait until the results are mailed out.
