Post VHT wrinkle red valve cover sanding letters do i need clear cloat???

i just painted my SOHC valve cover with VHT wrinkle red hight temp paint. it came out okay, but my question is that i want to sand the honda and honda emblem letters only. If i sand the honda and emblem letters only can i leave it like that?

do i need to spray high temp clear coat over the bare shiny letters???

pls let me know.
thanks

merry christmas everyone...

You can just sand the letters but it would have been easier to mask them over before painting.

I paid a guy in Toronto to paint my cover, it came out almost identical to a Type-R cover.

if i only sand off the honda letters, and honda logo taped up. will the shiny part become rusted or something. i assume i don't have to add clear coat

Valve cover is aluminum. It won't rust. I used the black on mine and sanded the lettering down with a block. Came out great. Better than original.
