Removing and repairing factory pin striping
1998 Civic, dealership original pin striping. Hate the way it looked, so I carefully attacked it with a razor blade. The driver side all came off beautifully, and after a quick buff, you can't tell it was ever there. Passenger side didn't come out quite as well.

I'm leaning towards 2000 grit, reclearing it, and buffing the everliving hell out of it, but I don't want to waste time if I don't have to. |
Re: Removing and repairing factory pin striping
Spent a few hours hitting the rear quarter with a buffer and rubbing compound, no luck. Tried 2000 grit followed by rubbing compound, still no luck. The color of the previously pin striped area is lighter than the surrounding paint, so I'd like to think this isn't paint fade. Am I wrong?
