so wait, let me get this straight, you're talkin about getting your car color sanded buffed and polished right?
they're gonna wetsand your car for the purpose of cutting all the orange peel and then buff it back to shine for 400? i think its a bit pricey. my friend quoted me $200 on a 2004 honda accord. thats with interior detail as well.

A good buffer is key. I'd start here:

Plus you'll need sand paper and buffing compound

I would you do it yourself it is easy just time consuming. It will not be much Get some wet sanding paper I am going to suggest 1000grit sandpaper. Get a buffer The one in the add above looks good but for 2 bills you could find a name brand company so you can get replacement parts for it if you ever need them. The buffer with adjustable speed will be best for you. The setting should be on slow so you do not burn through your clear coat. For buffing compound I like McGuire Diamond cut 2.0 and a McGuire polishing after. you will want to go get a rubber block to hold your sand paper. leave your paper in a bucket filled with water. leave the paper in the bucket then pull one peace out and sand then buff.

I agree that you should look into doing it yourself - the only reason is because the stuff needed can be used for intensive detailing down the line (buffer, pads, etc), plus buffing and detail wet sanding is a skill that is wonderful to have if you love cars.

www.autogeek.net for supplies. you can usually find a porter cable on ebay for a reasonable price.
if the car really needs to be wetsanded, you gotta use your best judgement on what grit to start with, and of course finish with 2000.
as for polishes, i recommend menzerna for a beginner.
but ill tell you right now, if you wetsand, you will need to use a rotary for your first polishing step.
as you can see, this hood is not wetsanded, hence the wavy images.

Re: Price for wet sanding a EF9?????????
i've gotten the higher grit marks and mid grit tracers out pretty easily with yellow pads, a PC and Optimum compound. i sanded an entire hood with no hiccups. but yeah, i would say a rotary might make it easier on some paints. i've only done it on Diamont clear, but totally cured Diamont.
