paint code NH658-P, is it 2 stage paint
Hello,
I'm new to this site. Purchased a 2005 Accord, but the front bumper needs to be changed. I've been told that the code indicates that's it a 2 stage paint job and the shop says it's an additional cost. Does anyone have any idea if they are screwing me for more money?

I would go to a different shop, it does seem like they are trying to get more money by saying "it's a 2 stage paint code".

Honda stoped using single stage in like 94-95. I would find a new shop, basecoat and clear is most common. I'm surprised the shop isn't using that. A rough estimate on a bumper should be 500-600 in my area and truly it should be blended into both fenders and possibly the hood. It doesn't have to be blended as most bumpers from the factory don't match anyways and usally two to three shades off.
