Masking tape wont come off
i taped corners of my new carbon fiber hood not to scratch it during installation, but now it doesn't come off. only the top layer peels off and other half and glue stays on the hood
corners were taped with scotch #2090 blue and wide stripe of scotch #2020 white, blue came right off
any suggestions how to get it off without damaging the hood?

Get some kind of residue remover and a razor balde and go to work.
Just be careful not to scratch the hood.
It looks like the tape got wet.
That tape doesnt like water very much.

tried goo gone, didn't work so good.
i got it off with pain thinner then washing with soap n water. also let engine run for a little to heat it up

I wouldn't put anything on it! I don't know about you but I wouldn't trust any chemicals on the carbon fiber hood. I would use a razor and gently scrape it off. That's what I would do.

"paint thinner might make ur clearcoat look dull " false
clear coat is a catlist once activated and dry it isnt effected by solvents with the exeption of paint striper
the reason why the finish is dulled is because it removes the wax and polish .
btw oven cleaner is a BAD BAD IDEA

the lesson here to learn is not to buy cheap tape and leave it on the car in :
*hot sun
*wet conditions like wet sanding(colorsanding)
* or long periods of time
