Foam for custom body work?
Does anyone have experience using foam for custom body work?
I want to fabricate the middle portion of a fiberglass bumper. (the shape isn't super complicated)
I was thinking about getting the foam in there, sanding it to the shape that I want, then laying the fiberglass on top of that to get the shape permanent. Then just flip it over, knock out the foam, and re-enforce with more fiberglass.
I found a two part expanding foam I think I might get. Is it worth the money besides that "great stuff" foam? I'm just gonna rip it out after i get the general shape?

^Ha ha, yeah I've seen that already. That's the two part foam that he's using. So i think it's made for that kinda stuff. I think i'm going to give the "great stuff" a try. It's not too hard of a shape. I think I can get it to work.

Re: Foam for custom body work?
that guy was a moron. he left all of the foam and cardboard under the fiberglass or whatever he put on top. i hope that car never is left outside and is in a moisture controlled box because that car will expand and contract like crazyyyyy.
your idea should work though. try it out and see if it works.
