Broken Rear Door Handle, '98 Accord
Outside door handle quit working. Not too bad, it opened fine from the inside...UNTIL my 18-year-old tried to help, and activated the child safety latch. Now it won't open from inside or out.
I hope I don't have to remove the door panel, as the door stuck is shut.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: Broken Rear Door Handle, '98 Accord
Well, I forgot all about this thread (but it seems to be invisible anyway).
I got the door open by removing the upholstery by the rear seatback, then drilled out the door switch that triggers the interior lights and the "door ajar" idiot light. I fished a tool through that hole to flip the child safety latch back off, then opened the door from the inside.
Now it's about 4.5 years later and I still haven't gotten around to replacing the outside door handle. But I do have one from a salvage yard, already the right color.
