To the OP,
What about the side moldings? painting those later? Looks funky with the color contrast.
Besides that, good work

I'll be painting those soon. Though i think i'll wait until i have thin side moldings, and new mirrors to paint those. Once I get the parts, I'll do another write-up v2.
Tag area garnish, moldings, handles, and mirrors. Though I don't see why, it's all the same process unless you need write-ups on removing the parts.

No, I'll just be painting the moldings. I'll take them off from the inside, so I avoid breaking the clips. I have to paint my mirrors too, so I'll have the door panels off anyway.

Wow that looks really good. I painted my grill, but I couldn't get the clear coat nice like yours. It kept fogging up. I used Duplicolor. I ended up repainting it because the clear coat was so bad, and leaving out the clear coat. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't match perfectly. Do you have any pointers for getting a nice clear coat?

With the clear I just did some light coats. If you still have problems, try sanding the last basecoat lightly with some 800 grit.
If all else fails, leave the foggy clearcoat and let it cure for 3-5 days. Then hit it with some rubbing compound.

I'll be washing it today and hitting it with rubbing compound.
I'll post pics.

Rained today
I'll be doing the side moldings and door handles tomorrow if weather permits. Should I make the DIY in another thread? or expand on this one?

Re: (Genuine Rolla)
That's what most of the write-up will entail, painting is the easy part, it's getting the moldings and door handles off that's a bitch.
