Re: (dareseven)
The evo &sti's are very colse I own an sti and some times i wished i would have gotten an MR, but the only thing i like about that it has longer gearing than an sti
so it moves a little faster.
STI has an awsome diff setup ,there are somany good and bad about both cars
The first reason i didn't buy one because it's a mistu and the interior is wack..but
being that i have beattin the living **** out of both stock and heavly moded
i would say the evo is a well blanced car for the every day driver and weekend track car.
The STI makes you work a little harder but is awsome when the DCCD is dialed
in with good susp..the STi is a great car but takes a long time getting use to.
A lot of honda people buy these cars and end up tradding them to get another
honda..it happens all the time.
So before you buy a 30,000$ car make sure you do your reserch...you might just end up with a S2000
so it moves a little faster.

Re: (xxmaxhardcorexx)
I was in the market for either an STI or EVO... still am but one of the selling points for me is that the EVO rear seat has more leg room. I dont sit back there but my 3 year old daughter will. I also liked the EVO seats more especially with the the leather and sunroof package..... damm all this talk about EVOs is going to go make me buy one soon

That wing looks horrible.
So far it seems like the only complaints on the Evo's is the clutch situation. You replace the clutch ONE time with something that is meant to hold the power and you're golden right? And the "cheapy feel" of the interior, to some people thats not a big deal(myself.) I think the dude above had a valid point, and as much as they are similar they seem to provide different levels of acheivment. You wanna go fast, then it seems the EVO is the better car of the two. If you wanna be quick and have a comfortable daily driver, then it seems the STI is maybe more comfortable. Almost like the STI might be a bit more practical, but if that isn't much of a concern, then throw some horns in the air and rip a EVO

mitsubishi drivetrains are known for being weak. It's nothing knew that the evo tranny/clutch fail on a regular basis. I would also say the boxer motors sound rediculous compared to an inline 4 and it's a better design in terms of center of gravity. interior of the sti is way nicer than the evo. Also the build quality of the STI is excellent. Also I noticed the water sprayer container for the evo is located in the engine compartment where it is exposed to the high heat of a turbo motor whereas the sti water sprayer tank is located in the trunk. I also like the differential control on the sti, but I do beleive that is on the new mr evo. Regardless both really quick cars and after you start modding alot of it goes out the window except fabricating your own driveline can be expensive.

my bro had one and a dealer in ny actually installed his 3" downpipe and blitz nur-spec axle-back. they would actually accept all warrenty work as long as they do the mods. he ended up installing a 3" intake(w/ maf modifier) and profec e-01 boost controller too. the car was pretty insane at 17psi. it could spin all 4 tires on dry pavement. i have never seen an evo with similar mods even come close to keeping up with it. too bad he sold it for a truck.
evo comes boosting 20psi so you can't raise the boost much at all. if you want to make the car fast it will cost some good money. if you want to make an sti fast you could buy a manual boost controller and bring the stock 14.5psi up to 17psi and they move. add an intake so it has a nice sound, or you could buy my bro's old intake.

Sti.....not only b/c I love um, but also because they are a better car reliability wise....In other words it probably won't break on you...as quickly.
