Re: Speartech 240LSX Project
Yeah! I have a lot of updates lets see....
Having a hard time sorting through the pics on the iPhone folders in Windows but here are a few
Got the drivetrain in.
Sikky Fuel Lines and Aluminum driveshaft with an LSD diff installed (just finished this today 8/20/2015)
And I bought a new car in March!
At the point now where it's just finishing up all of the (many) loose ends.
Will try and update this more now as we are closing in on the first start!
Follow me on Instagram: slowman87 I post updates there a lot as they happen.

Re: Speartech 240LSX Project
Quick recap:
She's all stock mostly. Just dumped on some coils
Full build by RPM
And if you saw this on the street, just like this, you really wouldn't think twice. I kinda like that idea. but I'm going to get some wheels for it (thinking TE37... ??) and just thrash on it this year! Can't wait!
Currently mounting the battery relocation kit in the trunk, then ready to test drive (once the snow goes away!) Speartech 240LSX LS3 project almost ready to burn some rubber!

Re: Speartech 240LSX Project
Because I bought an HKS Hi Power catback for a 240, and they're single exit!
But really just because I'm never a fan of duals on a car with single exhaust cutout in the rear bumper. I wanted the LS3 to be rumbling out of a fart pipe just for the idea of it lol. Full duals would be nightmare to engineer the pipe routing with limited space, unless you do side exits like behind the doors... oh well this should be pretty sweet though.

Haha for sure! Exhaust is all complete and sounds so good out of the HKS Hi Power!! This car freakin' RIPS! Hopefully I can get some good vids of it soon to share.
Next up will be replacing all wheel bearings, installing ARP extended lug studs, CTS-V front brake swap, wheels/tires, and off to the body shop for some sprucing up.

Re: Speartech 240LSX Project
Just curious, what's a ballpark figure on the cost of building one of these nowadays?
Just engine/swap wise...
Quick research shows MT spent 10k on the motor and another 4500 on the transmission, at least that's MSRP from the chevrolet website...plus all the other baller swap parts they used.

Re: Speartech 240LSX Project
Cut and dry list
Crate engine - around $6,000 (plus around $800 for front accessories kit)
Speartech 58x Harness package (harness, ECM, and throttle pedal)- around $1500
Trans - Not sure, we had this T56 all ready and we are good friends with RPM Transmissions which we took it to, so we have close to nothing in the fully built and micro polished trans but I'd imagine this is a $3,000-$4,000 transmission
Swap Kit - went with Sikky - $2,750
So, north of $14,000 to mimic a build similar to mine. Not including the other stuffs.
It could be done cheaper but we wanted top of the line stuff, so that's what we did. They aren't cheap if you're doing new, high quality stuff, but it's so worth it IMO.
