So tomorrow I will be looking at a 1990 Toyota Tercel EZ hatchback (the one pictured above) Its a one owner/clean title car with original paint and only 45,000 miles. Oh and its manual transmission. What my inquiry is does anyone have a tercel like this one and if so have you modified it? We all know Toyota makes some reliable cars, and the Tercel is known for economy and reliability. And I never thought I would be falling in love with a Tercel but when I saw this one (didnt know they came in hatchback body) I was in love. Im thinking throw on a spherical weighted shift **** for positive shift engagement/feel, Enkei RPF1 wheels in 15, and tint the windows. Maybe a muffler delete with straight pipe axle back to disturb the peace. Are these cars capable? I dont even know what the suspension design is on these cars? Torsion beam perhaps? Do you guys think this car has potential to be a fun to drive ride? Oh and its just a hair under 2,000 lbs. I was looking at 88-91 CRXs but the commanding prices have kept me away. Plus most of the CRXs are trashed unfortunately. But anyways what do you guys think of modifying a 1990 Tercel EZ hatch? Modify the mouse car or just use it as a beater? I see this car looking really good once lowered and on RPF1 wheels and 5% tint all around.
