New wheels on the Cooper S Clubman
Just got these on today so I washed the car up and took a few pics. I will be doing a full clay bar detail soon to get rid of the winter grime but it looks pretty good right now.
17x7 +43 RPF1s on 205/45 Exclaim UHP, saving about 6 lbs per corner over the stock setup. Forge Motorsport carbon air intake, aecarbon kevlar/carbon side scuttles, m7 strut tower braces, and JCW front grille are the main changes I've made so far.
I want to see how it handles the snow on new winter tires on the OEM wheels before I lower it, but I'd like to drop it about an inch, put on some spacers, and if that works out maybe a new exhaust. More stuff down the road depending on budget and warranty.
Pretty fun and quick, the turbo is small enough that I make consistent torque between 1800 and 5000 RPM. Averaging between 28-30 mpg usually as well.

I would have gone smaller, and saved more weight. When I had my MCS I dropped the 17's and got 15 RPF1's and saved 18lbs per corner. That changed the whole dynamic of the car, and made it seem a bit more like an older mini. As stated, more drop.
Only pic I have on this computer: http://img526.imageshack.us/i/dscn0057ui6.jpg/
Also, a blacked out beltline would look great on that car.

I'm interested in more of a drop but I'd really like to see how I go through this winter with dedicated snow tires. If I don't end up playing snow plow and getting trapped places I will definitely lower it. I'm looking at only about an inch drop overall, but it would still look better and handle better than stock.
I like your old Cooper! Blacked out looks really good on these cars. It looks like you used yours well!
I ordered a 'blackout kit' from a MINI site which ended up being a strip of automotive vinyl that didn't fit. I definitely agree that getting rid of the beltline is a good next step- i've been looking at bodyshops to actually sand it down and paint it black so it doesn't end up looking cheesy. I've also been debating the handles, headlight rings, gas cap, etc. Body color or black, etc. Some people are making carbon fiber versions of those but they seem pretty ridiculous.
It's like an old Miata- the engine is anemic as hell but the rest of the car is great, and if you're tracking it, it doesn't really matter because you're having a lot of fun.
