Soft Brake Pedal, Lots of pad!

Soft Brake Pedal, Lots of pad!
I have an 08' Ridgeline and the brake pedal seems to go down quite far before braking. I took one of the tires off and the pads have a lot of life left in them and the brake fluid is topped off. Any ideas? Hoping I don't have to bleed them.

Get the car in the air, spin one tire at a time while someone applies the brake pedal gently, if one wheel does not seem to grab as easily as the others, then look closer at that brake unit. Be aware that the front set may grab a little differently than the back set but the front two and the rear two should be compared together as a set. Give some time between applications in case there is air in the line, it may take a minute to loosen things up a bit.

i have seen the master cylinders leaking but they are leaking internally into thebooster and need boosters as well as a master, this is however quite rare, more probable would be heaving glazing of the pads and rotors.

well, if this is a problem that just begun and its not a "im driving a new car and getting used to the brakes" deal, then it is a mix of air in the lines and a failing master cylinder.

I would start with the basics and bleed a couple of bottles through the system the slightest bit of air in any caliper will cause a crappy low pedal
