it wouldnt surprise me. alot of cars from one make can share the same basic chassis. like the infinty fx45 shares with the 350z. but with the size and weight of the ridge and pilot which i do belive share, the van chassis wouldnt seem to work when you start to compare them.

Yes. But today's definition of sharing is different from the old days (1980s) when everything from Chrysler was built on the X-Car platform.

Nissan's FM platform mentioned above is a closer example. The "same" FM is used on 350Z, (Infiniti) FX, EX, M, and G. Just by looking at them, you can see they are different cars with different purpose, but yet the same (performance) in many ways.

Ridgeline & Odyssey do in fact share the same unibody frame. Honda decided to go with comfort over off-road performance, and I must say it is very noticeable with MILD off-roading. You certainly wouldn't want to put a lift kit on and do any rock crawling.

It has been stiffened up considerably on the ridgeline from the odessey, shares the same general structure but there have been a considerable amount of changes.

It's problems offroading are mainly due to no low range and fully independent suspension. Like what was said before, it's an onroad/dirt road "truck".

The Pilot is based on the Odyssey chassis and the Ridgeline has 7% chassis commonality with the Pilot. It's significantly different from any other Honda chassis.

Not true. The Ridgeline is the ONLY Honda with a "closed box ladder frame." They may appear to have the same silhouette but that's about it.

You're telling me my information isn't true but then you're agreeing with me. The Pilot and Ridgeline have 7% chassis commonality which also means that they're 93% dissimilar. This is according to Honda.

And what other Honda does the Ridgeline's silhouette resemble?

It seems that is correct, Ridgeline shares the same platform with Honda Pilot and Odyssey and Accord.

That may be true for the gen 2 Ridgeline, but it was not true for the gen 1 Ridgeline (based off the MDX), which the OP posted over 9 years ago!
