2010 Honda odyssey motor replacement, any hints
Not good.. a really good friend lent her car to her brother in law.. he blew the motor on the highway (hole in oil pan), our working theory is he was not in drive and possibly in 2nd gear.. but who knows. No warning he said, just a loud bang and that was it.
Honda wants $6200 to put in a used motor, and $9800 for a new motor.. needless to say, they are not going that way. Looks like online I can pick up a motor for $1600-2K.
Have any of you swapped out a Odyssey motor? any hints? I have a 2 post lift.. taking a quick look it appears out the bottom is the way to go. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I will be looking to pick up a motor this week and will start next weekend.

Bill, methinks a short subscription to ServiceExpress might be a wise investment. 1 day for $10 or 30 days for $50.
