2004 Pilot Door ajar light won't go off
The door ajar light is indicating that my front passenger door is not shut, when it actually is. I replaced the door switch but unfortunately that didn't solve my problem. I haven't noticed any other electrical issues that would suggest it is a fuse problem. Any ideas for what might be going on here? Thanks for your help!

Possible culprits:
Try this, disconnect the green wire going to the front passenger door switch. Tape it, so that it doesn't fall into the hole/opening where the switch is. Then close that door, does it still show the door ajar?
- The green wire going to the front passenger door switch is shorting to ground; for example, wire or insulation has a cut and wire is touching the car's metal chassis.
- Faulty "Failure Display Circuit" which is built into the gauge assembly (aka instrument cluster). If it was faulty, the gauge assembly may need replacement.

I have seen a few cars that have had something (usually the seat belt) closed in the door causing a dent where the door switch contacts the door. It won't push the plunger of the switch in enough for it to recognize that the door is really closed. You can try manually pressing the plunger in with the key on to see if the warning light goes off and check for a dent in the metal of the door.
