New Owner

Recently bought an '03 Pilot with 160K miles and now the transmission occasionally seems to slip when around 2nd gear, usually when going up a hill or turning a corner, but after a few attempts, it jumps right into gear. After going to a dealership, then drained the fluid and said it had lots of metal shavings in it. I have read about recalls on this transmission and will try to call HONDA tomorrow. But other than that, any suggestions? I paid $5,000 for the car and don't want to spend too much to get it dependable.
