The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton is OPEN!

The first Lapping Days (for advanced/experienced drivers only) are the middle of March. School days for drivers who are new to a race track will begin in April!

I have recently joined the ranks of instructor/coach for The Ridge Racing School. I'm looking forward to being a part of something like this that is near and dear to my heart.

In my recent communications I received the list they are working off of and it is subject to change but.... drum roll... good news for S2000s. They are allowed to run without an aftermarket roll-bar/cage. The factory ones are sufficient. Keep in mind that this ruling or decision could change in the future but is the case now.

The upcoming track days on March 16,17 and 18th have this caveat on qualification:

This lapping day [March 16-18] is for experienced sport drivers and licensed racers only. You must have verifiable experience as a solo driver in a high performance driving on a paved racetrack. Go-cart, autocross, motorcycle, and off road experience do not count toward this qualification.
And don't forget helmets (I got my new one last week from 425 Motorsports in Bellevue)

What about helmets?
All students are required to wear an auto racing SA 2005 or newer helmet on the track and in the Hot Pits at all times – no exceptions. Either closed face or open face helmets are acceptable. Use of a school helmet is included for new students in “The Ridge Racing School Driving Experience program. For “High Performance Driving Day” students we highly encourage you to own your own helmet. We do have a limited number that we can rent for each event as well.
More info can be found in the FAQ on the site.

IRDC Racing school, Lapping and HPDE on JUNE 16TH @ THE RIDGE!

It is mid-June so if you're car isn't ready yet, you've dropped the ball. Summer is upon us and it's time to get out on track, especially a track as epic as this.

Price is dependent on what you're doing: Racing school (to get race license), HPDE, or Lapping.

Event is being hosted by The International Race Driver's Club

To register go here:

Very very very inexpensive track time and very inexpensive instructor time.

Wow $265 for the school isn't bad. Unfortunately I don't have the money :(

It's crap that motorcycle experience doesn't count though. I've done two track days on the motorbike at PR already.
