There is a pretty good Auto-X scene in Bremerton if you are out that way.

http://www.bscc.net/

Check em out. You might have to wait until next season to race though. Their first event is usually in late February.

Yeah bscc.net is a good start. I ran my stock hatch out there all last season in the novice class. It's a lot of fun and there are a lot of helpful/knowledgable people out there too

What part of Washington are you in?

Up North we have CSCC and it's a very fun club to belong it, courses are always good. Regardless of where you go, it will be a while until you'll be able to join anything or attend an autocross event.

It's actually pretty painless. show up with a current helmet, be polite, tell the dude at the sign in table you're brand new (some dudes will likely come over and walk you through it). Line up when they tell you, and haul ***.

don't hit to many cones and have a good time.

Truly, just show up with a helmet. They'll help you.

Having your own helmet is for neccessarily required either. Out at bremerton they have loaner helmets for free.

Good point. I think I saw helmets at the last event we were at in Billings as well.

I think the point we're making is that it's pretty painless to show up and have a good time.

And for me,even in a stock civic, the adrenaline rush after that first run is a pretty awesome feeling! I highly recommend it.

For BSCC events its a $20 membership fee that is good for the entire season. Each event is $25 if you pre-register and $35 if you don't. You will get 3-4 runs depending on length of the course and # of participants. There are morning and afternoon run groups. You will either run first or work first. Working the course includes resetting cones and calling penalties, or helping in grid or with timing.

BSCC lets you borrow their helmets... I think they hold your drivers license while you use the helmet. An open faced SNELL rated helmet starts at like 65 bucks. Just get your own.

The guys out there in Bremerton are good people. Try to get into their autocross school that is held twice a year. Once I started autocrossing my priorities changed when it came to modifying my car and the things you learn there can be used off track to make you a better driver.

The only bad thing about BSCC is they spam their email like crazy. I got like 50 emails in one week.

I am talking about email. If you were on their mailing list you get the same email like 40 times. I know they are a good organization. I have been a member since 2006.
